Seth Rollins reveals why Vince McMahon was against The Stomp

Former Universal Champion Seth Rollins was on WWE on FOX’s the story of, and talked about his finisher – The Stomp. Rollins revealed that he wasn’t the one who came up with the move, and in fact, stole it from Japanese legend Naomichi Marafuji.

The Architect also revealed that while he felt the move was absolutely safe, Vince McMahon believed it was too vicious a move for the man who represented WWE and that is why Rollins had to stop using it.

So he asked me to change the move. I was not interested in changing the move. I loved it. I thought it was great, super safe. It was awesome. But he got in his head that he wanted me to do something different. So I had to drift away from it for a while. And then when the time was right, I found my opening and I was able to convince him to allow me to bring it back. And so hopefully it’s back for good. It’s very worked well for me.
