Shane McMahon Firing Blamed On A-List Singer

Rapper Bad Bunny teamed up with Damian Priest and faced off against the team of The Miz and John Morrison in a tag team match on Night One of WrestleMania 37 last year. Bad Bunny’s performance surpassed all expectations as he put on a performance of a lifetime in the match, ultimately resulting in a win for his team. A gross backstage picture of Bad Bunny was also previously released.

The match was previously going to be a singles match between The Miz and Bad Bunny until it became a tag team affair. It seems there was a reason for the change, as two wrestlers were already injured going into the match.

After a break of almost one year, Bad Bunny made his return during this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant, much to the delight of fans. He had a terrific performance, getting a couple of eliminations, including Sheamus as well. He was not the only surprise entrant as Shane McMahon was also part of the match, returning after almost a year.

According to a report by Andrew Zarian, there were numerous changes to what number Bad Bunny would be in the match and it was said to be a huge cause of concern for WWE as well. This is because the company did not want to come across negatively with such a major outside star. It was also stated that Bad Bunny’s issue might have had something to do with Shane McMahon as well, and played a role in his release.

Also, during a recent edition of The Ringer Wrestling podcast, former WWE Champion The Miz discussed watching Bad Bunny train before their epic tag team encounter at WWE WrestleMania 37. Credit to WrestlingInc for the below quote.

“I remember watching Bad Bunny train right? As I was watching him train, I was like, ‘ah, they’re training him, they’re giving him all the stuff. But I need to get in with him,” The Miz claimed. “I have to get in with him.’ So while he was training backstage, I would get in there with him, and I remember the first time I got in there with him, I didn’t call anything. I literally just, I literally got in, locked up, and just started having a match with him to see where he was. And honestly, he was training so hard before this by the way. And I was like, ‘I just need to get in there.’
