NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton recently took to her Instagram account and posted a picture wearing a red swimsuit and a NY Yankees shirt over the swimsuit. Her caption read: “Red looks good on me”
Stratton has held the NXT Women’s Championship since WWE NXT Battleground in May, when she defeated Lyra Valkyrie in a match Stratton has referred to as the most memorable finish of her career. The victory took place in the culmination of a tournament to decide the new champion after Indi Hartwell vacated the title upon being called up to the main roster.
Recently, Becky Lynch teased that she could come to WWE NXT. On the August 23 episode of WWE NXT, NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton stated that she would go down as one of the best NXT Women’s Champions of all time. She name-dropped Becky Lynch, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley.
Lynch then took to Twitter and noted that she hasn’t held the NXT Women’s Championship…yet. This response led many fans to wonder whether “The Man” could potentially come around and return to NXT someday.
Later in the show, Stratton commented on her misstep and shared her belief that Lynch as irrelevant anyway. Lynch is gearing up for a major match at WWE Payback, where she will face Trish Stratus in a Steel Cage Match. She will take on Zoey Stark in a Falls Count Anywhere Match on the August 28 episode of WWE RAW.
