Tony Khan advised Orange Cassidy to not display wrestling ability too early

Orange Cassidy is one of the most over wrestlers in AEW currently. His match against Chris Jericho certainly cemented the fact to fans that he could wrestle. However, Cassidy’s feud with Jericho is far from over.

Tony Khan spoke to the New York Post, where he talked about the time he told Cassidy to not showcase his in-ring prowess. Cassidy performed a Stun Dog during a tag team match, but Khan wanted him to save such moves for later.

“There was a six-man tag where he (Cassidy) did a couple of things and when he got through the curtain I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ He’s like, ‘I did a stunner.’ You did the Stun Dog and I’m like ‘Save all that stuff man’…Once I figured out how capable he was, really tried to put something together for him that would allow him to camouflage his skill until the PAC match and then the PAC match was when we started to unleash all this stuff we had been holding back.”

Fans have certainly enjoyed Orange Cassidy’s current run in the company. His match against PAC at AEW Revolution definitely showed how fans are behind him. We will have to see how they progress his feud with Jericho.
