The long-tenured UFC commentator Joe Rogan has been involved in several controversial matters lately. Rogan has been all over the news this past week following a series of controversies. He was being accused of spreading misinformation about the virus on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, on Spotify.
Amid the controversies, the company refused to remove all of Joe Rogan’s content though a recent appeal from some musicians and podcasters was noted. However, Spotify tried to find common ground and began removing several JRE episodes. It has been noted that the total number of deleted episodes has reportedly reached 113.
Another alarming issue followed suit over the weekend when a video compilation of him saying the “N-word” on his podcast went viral. Trevor Noah recently bashed Rogan after the infamous video clip that recently started resurfacing.
Trevor Noah opens up on Joe Rogan’s N-Bomb
Noah pointed out that Rogan’s remarks were racially insensitive and that the UFC commentator willingly used racist remarks to get views. On The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, the comedian said:
“Yeah, you can tell that Joe Rogan knows he’s in trouble, because in the vaccine video if you remember it, he’s outside, he’s having a nice day and here he was in the library. He’s like, ‘Hey look, I’m learning… He said he would never say black people are apes, but he said that… What I found particularly illuminating is when he says I wasn’t being racist, I was just being entertaining. No, Joe, I think you were using racism to be entertaining.”
Rogan was recently offered and declined a one million dollar offer to take his services to Canada-based video platform Rumble. “We stand with you, your guests, and your legion of fans in desire for real conversation. So we’d like to offer you 100 million reasons to make the world a better place,” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski wrote in a Feb. 7 letter shared on Twitter. “How about you bring all your shows, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years? This is our chance to save the world. And yes, this is totally legit.”
