Triple H apparently said WWE will never have another marquee name like John Cena

WWE has produced a few Superstars who are a household name not only in the wrestling world but other mediums as well. That list includes John Cena, who is no longer an active wrestler as he has a busy schedule in Hollywood.

During The Ryback Show, Ryback talked about the time Triple H told him something interesting while they were discussing contracts. Triple H apparently told Ryback that WWE is never going to have a Superstar as huge as Cena. Hence, Ryback should not try to ask for a huge sum of money.

“This goes back when I was there and Hunter told me…when I was in that top position, or working in that top position, and then the contract negotiations were coming up.”

“He (Triple H) goes, ‘Ryan,’ and he was just shooting me straight, he goes; ‘we’re never gonna have another marquee name after [John] Cena ever again. He’s the last one.”
This discussion started when former WWE Superstar Rusev was on the show as well. He also shared his frustrations during his time in WWE.

Eric Bischoff also mentioned how there have been no bonafide Superstars in professional wrestling after John Cena. We will have to see whether WWE manages to build a star at the same level as Cena eventually.
