Donald Trump called Kim Kardashian ‘disingenous’ on the Full Send Podcast with the Nelk Boys.
On Tuesday morning, the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, made a comment on his social media platform, Truth Social, about his potential 2024 rival for the Republican nomination, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida. The post made by Trump was a swipe at DeSantis, mocking him over his feud with the entertainment giant, Disney.
The issue between Governor DeSantis and Disney began approximately a year ago when the then-CEO of Disney, Bob Chapek, released a statement criticizing the Parental Rights in Education bill. The bill, which was dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by its opponents, had been passed by the Republican-controlled Florida legislature. Following this criticism, the legislators decided to take action against Disney’s special taxing district, the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID), which covers a large area of Disney’s property in Orange and Osceola County.
Initially, the legislators attempted to pass a bill that would have entirely repealed the RCID. However, they soon realized that the RCID’s billion-dollar-plus bond debt would pose significant political problems if they proceeded with this plan. As a result, they reversed course and passed a new bill that aimed to revoke Disney’s landowner authority to appoint the RCID board, instead granting this power to the governor.
Unfortunately for Governor DeSantis, before his newly-appointed board could take control, Disney and the existing RCID board entered into a new development agreement. This agreement essentially locked the existing system in place, preventing the incoming board from using the Disney name or characters, and greatly limiting their power. As a result of these events, the governor has faced considerable ridicule online and from the media, with The New York Times reporting that he had been “outwitted by a mouse.”
“DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, trying one of several nicknames he’s thrown at the governor.
“His original P.R. plan fizzled, so now he’s going back with a new one in order to save face,” Trump continued, and then offered some advice for Mickey.
“Disney’s next move will be the announcement that no more money will be invested in Florida because of the Governor – In fact, they could even announce a slow withdrawal or sale of certain properties, or the whole thing,” he wrote. “Watch! That would be a killer.”
“In the meantime, this is all so unnecessary, a political STUNT!” Trump concluded. “Ron should work on the squatter MESS!”
In conclusion, the feud between Governor DeSantis and Disney has been ongoing for a year, with the governor facing considerable criticism and humiliation. Trump’s recent comments on the matter only add fuel to the fire, highlighting the tension between the two potential Republican candidates for the 2024 presidential nomination.
