Trump Gets Rejected Before Stormy Daniels Trial

It has been noted that Donald Trump’s Stormy Daniels New York hush money trial remains on track to begin jury selection on April 15 via Deadline.

On Monday, the former president and current GOP candidate was short in his latest attempt to stop the case involving a $130,000 payment paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels for her silence about an alleged affair before 2016 election.

It is noted that in one of many procedural moves designed to keep the trial from starting next week, Team Trump is looking to hit the pause button to relocate the case outside Manhattan.

It has come to light that New York state appellate judge said no.

“Defendant’s application for a stay of trial … pending the determination of defendant’s motion for change of venue, is denied,” Associate Justice Lizbeth Gonzalez ruled after a short hearing in front of the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host’s lawyers and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Trump had been moving the money via his one-time bagman and lawyer Michael Cohen and now faces criminal charges connected to the cash. As with all his indictments, Trump has pleaded not guilty here to 34 first-degree counts of falsifying business records.

Both Daniels and Cohen went to jail for a while for covering up for his old boss and then for turning on him. They are expected to be called as witnesses at the trial.

This hush money case is one of four criminal cases the ex-president is currently fighting, and now likely the only one that will actually start before the November election and the end of the year.
