According to Meidiate, Judge Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial, has imposed a gag order on the former president following Trump’s deleted attack on Engoron’s law clerk.
Throughout the trial, Trump has been vocal in his criticism of Judge Engoron, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and other opponents. However, Trump’s recent actions took a more severe turn when he posted the name and image of Judge Engoron’s principal law clerk, Allison R. Greenfield, on his Truth Social account. The post included a picture of Greenfield standing with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
The post insinuated a connection between Greenfield and Schumer, with the caption asking, “Why is Judge Engoron’s Principal Law Clerk, Allison R. Greenfield, palling around with Chuck Schumer?” Trump further alleged, “Schumer’s girlfriend, Alison R. Greenfield, is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately!!”
Judge Engoron promptly issued a gag order against Trump, deeming “personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, not appropriate.”
Despite Trump’s deletion of the post on Truth Social, the damage had already been done as the screenshot of the attack was distributed through his email network. This situation has raised concerns about the responsible use of social media by public figures and the potential consequences of such behavior.
Moreover, Trump’s use of misleading language, such as implying a romantic connection between Greenfield and Schumer, has drawn criticism for being misleading and irresponsible.
Well lookie lookie…
