We noted before how former WWE Star Shawn Spears, better known to WWE fans as Tye Dillinger was added to the Casino Battle Royale for Double Or Nothing.
The former WWE Star talked to Sports Illustrated after this announcement was made and during the talk he revealed the reason why he decided to work with the upstart promotion.
The former NXT Star said that he believes in providing an alternative to the fans and he believes in what the company is trying to do with their programming:
“I’m coming to AEW because I believe in what they are doing, I believe in providing an alternative for fans, and I really believe that the audience has wanted an alternative for quite some time. This is now the platform to give people exactly what they want, and I am really looking forward to proving myself in AEW.”
While Tye Dillinger has been announced for the upcoming show, it’s worth noting here that we don’t know what kind of contract he has signed and it would be interesting to see if he sticks with the promotion after the upcoming event.
