Vince McMahon ‘Gave Up’ On WrestleMania 37

Vince McMahon might want WrestleMania to be as ‘big’ as possible but that wasn’t the case within the past months. On a recent episode of ‘The Nitty Gritty Dirt Sheet Preview Show’ hosted by Vince Russo, Vince sat down with co-host Billi Bhatti to discuss how Vince McMahon originally was discouraged about the build to WrestleMania and the event itself due to COVID-19 pandemic. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s remarks. This Vince McMahon health update was recently revealed.

Bhatti: There is a ridiculous story that I can tell you about Monday about something very big that they didn’t realize which caused significant changes to what they were doing. Big oversights, disorganization, changing of minds, just this whole thing of Vince McMahon having this consistent theme of ‘we need to be bigger, we need to be bigger, it’s WrestleMania we need to be bigger’.

Whereas a few months ago he was like: “F it, I can’t have my full WrestleMania relaunch and we have to do what the NFL does and it’s not what I wanted to do. We’re gonna have the WrestleMania then be in the Thunderdome – we’re gonna do Thunderdome, Thunderdome, Thunderdome, WrestleMania with fans, Thunderdome, Thunderdome.” So, it’s definitely not what he wanted to do. Vince McMahon has gone away from the ‘sulky’ kind of vibe that he had to ‘Oh well it’s WrestleMania so it does actually need to be big.’ It’s really odd.
