Goldberg Paid Huge Money At Royal Rumble

Eric Bischoff during a recent interview on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, claimed that the former WWE Universal Champion Goldberg, who is currently a part-timer is still continuing with his in-ring career just to get financial benefits, which he claims is ‘seven figures’ per match, including at the Royal Rumble.

Eric Bischoff makes a bold claim

Bischoff had witnessed the arrival and the rise of Goldberg in the late nineties when he had dominated in WCW. Even after a span of two decades Goldberg still competes in huge high-profile matches.

Eric Bischoff who does not hesitate to speak his mind, made a claim and explained whythe former WCW star is still competes in the ring at this age. A huge name is missing from WrestleMania this year.

He said:

“Goldberg is doing it for the money, come on. This is not love of the business or love to get out there and perform. In my opinion, sorry Bill you and I aren’t close friends but we are friends. And if what I am saying Bill offends you then I apologise because I don’t mean it to but come on dude, do you think he’s doing it for the fun or do you think he’s doing it for the money?

He added:

It’s smart it’s not a bad thing! I’m not putting it down. If I had the ability at Bill’s age, and look the way Bill did and someone gave me a 7 figure cheque to work 5 minutes come on! Lets be honest with ourselves and not bust anybody’s balls over this. Anyone would do it, we dream about that opportunity.”

Goldberg made a shocking return to WWE back in 2016 and eventually won the Universal Championship twice. His last appearance was at the 2021 Royal Rumble when he had challengd Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in a losing effort.
