Vince McMahon Going To Trial After Accusation

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck are reportedly heading to trial. Pro Football Talk and The Athletic’s Daniel Kaplan report that mediators met with representatives for McMahon and Luck on Wednesday in an attempt to reach a settlement agreement, but that talks lasted just nine minutes before ending.

Vince McMahon was sued for a whopping amount

Luck is suing McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment for $23.8 million in compensation from his XFL contract, after McMahon had provided a personal guarantee that Luck would be paid. McMahon countersued Luck, alleging that Alpha incurred damages of over $572,000 as a result of Luck breaching his contract and duties. It has been noted that no settlement has been agreed upon, thereby a trial date has been set for July 11.

Luck was hired as the commissioner on a multi-year deal for at least $20 million per year. McMahon officially suspended XFL operations on April 10, laying off all employees. As noted in the complaint, Luck was fired on April 9. The XFL filed for bankruptcy on April 13. A group led by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson purchased the XFL in August 2020. The league is set to resume activities and operations in February 2023.

Vince McMahon is having a tough time. He recently got entailed in a controversial matter. The Wall Street Journal recently unveiled that WWE is investigating a secret $3 million settlement paid to a former employee of Mr. McMahon. The probe has also scooped several claims of misconduct from former employees toward The Chairman and top executive John Laurinaitis.

It is not known which member leaked the story. There are twelve people on the board. Dave Meltzer discussed the source of the leak on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave was not sure about who might have released the information, but seems certain that it was a board member. Who that is is anybody’s guess.
