Rob Van Dam remains one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever graced the squared circle, especially in WWE. The pro wrestling legend has worked in several promotions such as ECW, WCW, WWE, and IMPACT Wrestling during his career that has lasted over three decades. Ric Flair also went after Rob Van Dam for a sad reason previously.
It seems the former WWE Champion recently had talks with WWE as well. With the Royal Rumble match this year promising a lot of surprises, fans wondered who would appear during the match. As it turns out, not very many as the match lacked genuine surprises that would shock the WWE universe.
Rob Van Dam himself made a return during the 2009 Royal Rumble, where he got a ton of reactions from the audience in attendance. Fans wondered if he was going to appear during this year’s Royal Rumble premium live event as well but that did not end up happening. Vince McMahon wasn’t interested in bringing back RVD.
“I let the WWE know that I was available if they needed me for Royal Rumble, and I was on standby, with a brand new outfit feeling great, you know, in a great condition. In the end, they did not call me in, but it could happen anytime. I really do not have any plans for it, but you know, I would consider any situation from any company. I would definitely consider it. If it’s right, it’s right.”
