Will Smith Wife Reveals Rapper Was ‘My Soulmate’

Jada Pinkett Smith has been married to popular star Will Smith for 25 years but she recently said that the late rapper Tupac Shakur was her “soulmate.”

“A soulmate, yeah,” she said during an interview with Rolling Out.

“If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think Pac and I have traveled a few together. You know, in various forms.”

It has been noted that the “Girls Trip” actress was asked whether she ever regretted not taking her relationship with the “All Eyez on Me” rapper to the next level, she said, “It just wasn’t possible.”

“There was no chemistry between us,” she added. “I talk about it in the book, you know. … It’s that friendship-love chemistry, trust me.”

Jada and Shakur met at the Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland in the mid-’80s. They remained close friends until the “Dear Mama” was fatally shot and killed in September 1996 while riding down the Las Vegas strip in the car with Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight after a boxing match. He was 25.

In a previous interview, the “Worthy” author reflected on the first time she met Shakur.

“It was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself,” Jada recalled. “And in high school, Pac was a little funny-looking. Definitely from looking at him, wasn’t necessarily the type of cat that I would even like, deal with.

“But as soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet. Once you paid attention to him he kind of sucked you in. And we hit it off from that moment on … I don’t think either one of us thought we would have made it in the way that we did, but we knew we were gonna do something.”
