WWE Contract Rejected By Ex-World Champion

The former IMPACT World Champion Moose got a breakthrough in the pro-wrestling scene through with ROH and gained popularity in IMPACT Wrestling. It turns out WWE had a huge interest in bringing him to the company.

WWE reportedly wanted to sign Moose

Moose initially signed with TNA now known as Impact Wrestling in 2016 for a two-year exclusive deal. As per the reports when his contract expired, WWE officials reached out to him. According to Fightful Select, he had decided to leave for WWE until Vice President of Impact Scott D’Amore approached him with a final offer to re-sign with the company.

The outlet reported that the new contract which got him to stay with IMPACT was a major improvement on his old deal. However, it required a quick response and Moose took it. The offer reportedly was put on the tab;e when he was having talks with WWE, that included a pitch of him directly going to the company’s main roster.

It was also noted, Canyon Ceman was the one who reached out to Moose. Ceman was Senior Director of Talent Development of WWE at the time. However, he was released last year which ended his nine-year tenure with the company. WWE further confirmed that they would have been very particular about not contract tampering.

Moose re-signed with IMPACT and the contract is for two years. WWE might go after him again when that expires but that is not happening anytime soon.  It was at Bound for Glory last year that Moose won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match and thus earning a shot at any championship. Later that night, he cashed in his Call Your Shot and defeated the newly crowned IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander to win the title for the first time. Moose lost the title against Josh Alexander at Rebellion that took place last month.
