WWE Fired Star Breaks Silence After Attempted Murder

The former WWE/UFC star Cain Velasquez is facing as many as ten charges after being involved in a shooting in late February. Cain had followed Harry Goularte, who was recently charged with 1 felony count of lewd and lascivious act for allegedly molesting Valesquez’s close relative, along with his mom and stepdad from their home. Goularte was let out of jail under supervised release despite being charged.

Velasquez allegedly fired shots at the vehicle where he hit Goularte’s stepfather. It was reported that the police later found a 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun in Cain’s truck with 2-10 bullet magazines where 8 total bullets were missing from the mags. The charges against him include 1st degree attempted murder, multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting an occupied motor vehicle, among others. If found convicted, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion faces decades in prison.

Cain Velasquez issues a statement on the matter

On Tuesday ahead of his court hearing, Velasquez issued the following statement regarding the situation:

“To everyone who has expressed their support for us, my family and I can never thank you enough. From the depths of our hearts and souls, we are eternally grateful for your love. Your selfless acts and encouraging words have given me strength in my darkest moments. This story is complex and is slowly unfolding right now. To all the true victims of this case, may God grant you the strength to speak publicly. Although the hardest part is reliving the pain you have suffered, by speaking honestly, justice will be done and your true recovery will begin. I will never stop helping and loving my community and all of you. Thank you for loving me. — Cain Velasquez”
