Vince McMahon recently announced his retirement from his roles as Chairman and CEO of WWE. It was later clarified that he was also done with his work on creative. Some reports have emerged regarding hisĀ backstage performance as well. It was revealed thatĀ Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan will serve as Co-CEOs of WWE, while Triple H is EVP of Talent Relations. Fans had been excited for this week’s Monday Night RAW, as it marked the first show with Triple H as Head of Creative. The show was sold out from Madison Square Garden and will likely see an increase in the ratings. It was also the go-home edition of Raw for Saturdayās SummerSlam. However, it seems the ideas were not completely HHH’s.
Triple H was hardly involved for the show
WWE isnāt expected to make any major changes for now because they want to show stockholders the company is stable without McMahon in charge. While speaking on todayās Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted the show was largely written and approved last Thursday before McMahon left:
āThis is probably not the show to judge anything by because this show was largely written before Vince left,ā Meltzer said. āIt was written a lot on Thursdayā¦nobody ripped up anything. There are a few minor changes is what I was told. Essentially, this was the show that had been approved. Theyāre not making any big changes or anything like that just yet and of course, theyāre going to SummerSlam with the ideas in mind. The interest in this show was gigantic, they sold out.ā
WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event is set to take place this Saturday, July 30. The card is stacked with some huge matches. We will have to see how the show pans out.
