Saturday’s WWE live event in Fayetteville, North Carolina will see some changes as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will not be a part of it.

Roman Reigns pulled from live event

WWE public relations reached out to Wrestling Inc. to say that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was advertised on “incorrect promotional material” and will not be appearing at this Saturday’s event.

According to the announcement, refunds will be available at the point of purchase until 7:30 PM ET on the event day. Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, “Raw” Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, “SmackDown” Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, and others are still advertised for the show.

Here is the statement from WWE P.R. in full:

“Incorrect promotional material was released that advertised Roman Reigns in Fayetteville this Saturday, May 20. Roman Reigns will not be Fayetteville. Refunds will be available at [the] point of purchase until 7:30 ET the day of the event.”

The announcement was previously made by the event’s venue, the Crown Coliseum, on Facebook. It will be Reigns’ first time back in the venue in over four years, and only his second appearance at a house show in 2023.

Although Reigns used to appear frequently on WWE’s house shows, “The Tribal Chief” began making these appearances much less frequently while also starting to appear much less frequently across WWE programming at large.

Reigns recently made his return on WWE television for the first time since the night after his victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. On the May 12 episode of “SmackDown,” the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion set his sights on another pair of belts to add to his collection.

After berating The Usos for failing to reclaim the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Reigns announced that he and Solo Sikoa would be challenging the champions at the upcoming Night of Champions premium live event.
