WWE responds to announcement of Rob Gronkowski’s NFL return

News came out yesterday that the former NFL player Rob Gronkowski has decided to return to football and he plans to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upon his comeback.

The football league has since confirmed the news about Gronkowski and now WWE has also commented on this development by releasing a statement on the matter.

The company released the following statement on their official website congratulating the Football player while also mentioning the WWE 24/7 title:

“Congratulations to Rob Gronkowski, the current WWE 24/7 Champion, on his return to football. Per the rules of the 24/7 Title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from Tom Brady…anytime, anywhere.”

Rob Gronkowski won the 24/7 title at the night 2 of WrestleMania 36 and it would be interesting to see what the company has planned for the championship after his decision.
