WWE SmackDown Report – 1/10/14

This week’s show starts off with the Wyatt Family. Bray asks if you heard the good news. He needed him. He needed him. He was lost. Now, he has a home. Your words mean nothing to him now. Daniel on hears his truth. Now he has a home.

 


 

We are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Michael ‘Rocky’ Cole and John ‘Apollo’ Layfield.

Match Number One: Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso versus Erick Rowan and Luke Harper

Harper and Jimmy start things off. Harper runs Jimmy into the corner and connects with a forearm to the back. Harper with a European uppercut. Jimmy with a kick and Jey with a punch form the apron. Jey tags in and he hits a drop kick to the temple. Jimmy tags back in and he hits a double sledge from the turnbuckles. Harper with an uppercut.

Rowan tags in and he connects with a forearm to the back. Rowan with an elbow to the back of the head followed by a slam attempt but Jimmy escapes and he punches Rowan. Jimmy tries for a sunset flip but Rowan stays on his feet but he misses a leg drop. Rowan sends Jimmy into the air and then down to the mat.

Rowan puts Jimmy on the turnbuckles and he connects with a series of forearms and then Harper tags in and kicks Jimmy. Harper with chops to Jimmy and he tags Rowan back in. Rowan punches Jimmy and connects with a head butt. Jimmy with punches and chops. Rowan blocks a kick but Jimmy with a dragon whip.

Harper tags in and he knocks Jey off the apron and then he connects with a boot to Jimmy as we go to commercial.

Harper with a punch in the corner and then he looks around before putting Jimmy in a front face lock. Harper with a knee and he tags in Rowan. Rowan puts Jimmy in the ropes and he pulls at the face. Rowan with a knee drop to the chest. Jimmy with punches and he tries for a cross body but Rowan catches him and hits a fallaway slam.

Rowan with a boot to the chest and then Harper tags in. Harper with an Irish whip but he runs into an elbow. Harper with a punch and European uppercut. Harper with a knee drop to the head. Harper gets a near fall. Harper pulls at Jimmy’s face. Harper slingshots Jimmy’s throat into the middle rope.

We are back and Harper with a Gator Roll and then he applies a side head lock. Harper with a back elbow and he tags in Rowan. Harper blocks the Usos’ corner while Rowan slams Jimmy. Rowan with the Double Atomic Noogie on Jimmy. Jimmy with a jaw breaker and a boot to Rowan. Jimmy with a corkscrew senton and both men are down.

Jey and Harper tag in and Jey with clotheslines to Harper and he knocks Rowan off the apron. Harper with an Irish whip but Jey with an elbow and super kick followed by an uppercut. Jey with a running forearm into the corner. Jey with a Samoan Drop and then he hits the running butt splash into the corner. Jey with a super kick to Rowan on the apron and Harper with a Michinoku Driver but Jimmy breaks up the cover.

Harper sends Jimmy to the floor and Jey with a rollup for a near fall. Harper with an uppercut but Harper is back dropped to the floor. Jey with a plancha onto Harper and both men are down on the floor. The referee starts his count while Jey and Harper continue to fight on the floor. Rowan hits Jey from behind and Jimmy with a flying shoulder tackle off the apron.

Harper with a discus lariat to Jimmy and then Harper Irish whips Jey into the ring steps and Jey clips his knee on the steps as he tries to go over them.

The referee makes the ten count and calls for the bell.

Double Count Out

After the match, Harper and Rowan go over to Jey and they roll him into the ring. Jimmy with a super kick to Harper and then he helps get Jey out of the ring.

The Usos go up the ramp and they are attacked by Bray and Bryan. Harper and Rowan join in the assault on The Usos. Bryan rolls Jey into the ring and he hits the flying knee. Harper and Rowan hold Jimmy for Wyatt to give him Sister Abigail.

The Wyatt Family stands over the Usos and we go to commercial.

We are back and Vickie Guerrero is in her office and Randy Orton enters. He wants to know where Triple H and Stephanie are. Vickie says that they are not here. Randy says that anyone has to consult with him before putting him in a match. Vickie starts to say that it is best for business, but Randy cuts her off. Randy says that he will give the Authority a piece of his mind on Monday night.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Miz welcomes us to MizTV. He says that his guest was in the most must see segments on Old School Raw. We take a look at what happened with Brock Lesnar, Mark Henry, and Big Show.

Miz welcomes the Big Show to the ring.

Miz asks Show about Brock and says that people go the opposite direction of Brock since he broke the arm of Mark Henry. Show went after Lesnar and threw him across the ring like a rag doll. He asks Show what was going through his mind.

Show says that there is only so much crap you can take. There was Paul running his mouth and Brock breaking Mark’s arm. Show says that he does not like Brock Lesnar. He did not like him when he was here before. He was happy when Brock left. He likes him less now that he is back. Everyone is afraid to confront Brock because they end up like Mark Henry. Brock was not standing in the ring with a man on Monday night, he was standing in the ring with a giant.

Brock does not seem like the baddest man on the planet any more. Show says that he is challenging Brock to a fight.

Show wants to know if Brock will accept the challenge and Paul Heyman comes to the stage.

Paul introduces himself and he says that Show is not looking for him. He is looking to fight his client, BROCK LESNAR. Since Brock is not just a fighter, he is the Ultimate Fighter in WWE. How would Show like to fight Brock Lesnar tonight in Philadelphia.

Paul says that Brock Lesnar does not fight when the Big Show wants to fight Brock Lesnar. Show gets to fight Brock Lesnar when he says that Show gets to fight Brock Lesnar. Paul says that Show may fight Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

For the record, if he wants to pick a fight with his client before the Royal Rumble, he assures Show that Brock Lesnar will not be a hard man to find.

We are back and Michael Cole reminds us that Batista is coming back a week from Monday and that he will be in the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Something important happened on Wednesday night in Las Vegas and we have footage of the announcement of the WWE Network.

Match Number Two: Rey Mysterio, Fernando, Diego, and Sin Cara (with El Torito) versus Antonio Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Curtis Axel, and Ryback (with Zeb Colter)

Axel and Diego start off and they lock up. Diego with a snap mare. Axel with a kick and punch. Axel with a slam and he uses his boot on the face. Axel with a shoulder tackle. Diego stops Axel for an Ole and then he sends Axel into the turnbuckles and chops him. Diego with an irsih whip and Axel tries to send him over the top rope to the floor but Diego with a head stand in the corner.

Diego is sent to the apron and Diego with a shoulder and then he hits a head scissors. Fernando tags in and they hit a high/low combination for a near fall. Axel runs Fernando into the corner and Cesaro tags in. Cesaro with a European uppercut to Fernando. Cesaro with a slam. Fernando with a head scissors and a springboard back elbow. Swagger and Diego tag in and Diego with a springboard chop to the head. Cara and Axel tag in and Cara with a missile drop kick. Ryback tags in and Cara with drop kicks. Rey and Cara with a double drop toe hold and Rey goes for the 619 but Ryback goes to the floor and we go to commercial.

We are back and Swagger with a knee to Rey and Rey sends Swagger into the turnbuckles. Swagger with an elbow but Rey gets his feet up on a Swagger Bomb attempt. Rey with a round kick to Ryback. Axel interferes and Diego and Fernando with drop kicks that send Ryback and Axel to the floor.

Diego and Fernando attempt stereo suicide dives but they only connect with Ryback while Axel moves out of the way. Torito goes up top and takes care of Axel with a senton splash. Rey with a kick to Swagger and he goes for a wheelbarrow but Swagger sends Rey to the mat and he applies the ankle lock.

Rey sends Swagger into the ropes and he tries for the 619 but Swagger grabs the legs and he drives Rey into the mat with a belly-to-belly but Cara breaks up the cover. Cesaro and Cara go to the floor. Rey counters a doctor bomb with a rana and then he hits the 619 and Rey goes up for the dive and the three count.

Winners: Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, Fernando, and Diego

Michael mentions Old School Raw and how the show started with Randy Orton, Ric Flair, and John Cena.

Match Number Three: Big E Langston versus Randy Orton in a Non Title Match

They lock up and they try to get the power advantage but Langston backs Orton into the corner and he gives a clean break. Langston with a shoulder tackle and Orton rolls to the floor to regroup. Orton returns to the ring and they lock up. Langston with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Orton backs into the corner and then goes back to the floor.

Orton with a kick and head butt followed by forearms and then he punches Langston on the mat. Orton looks around and then he kicks Langston and then connects with a European uppercut. Orton with a head butt. Langston with a shoulder tackle for a near fall. Langston with a punch to the midsection.

Langston starts to work on the left shoulder and applies an arm bar. Langston runs Orton into the corner and connects with shoulders. Langston with a punch in the corner followed by shoulders. Orton with a knee to stop a shoulder by Langston. Orton kicks Langston and connects with a forearm. Orton with forearms to the back of the neck and then he hits a back breaker. Langston with another back breaker to Orton and he gets a near fall.

Orton with forearms but Langston with an Irish whip and a running shoulder in the corner. Langston gets Orton up for a power slam and Orton gets away from Langston and goes to the floor. Orton teases a return to the ring but he goes back to the floor and we go to commercial.

Langston punches Orton and then he runs Orton into the ringside barrier. Langston runs Orton into the ringside barrier again. Orton is sent back into the ring and Orton goes to the apron. Langston with a shoulder to Orton. Langston goes for a running shoulder but Orton moves and Langston goes through the ropes to the floor.

Orton stands on the turnbuckles and looks at the crowd and then he poses. Langston gets back into the ring and Orton kicks Langston. Orton with boots to the leg to weaken Langston’s base. Orton continues with the Garvin Stomp and he gets a near fall.

We are back and Orton with a reverse chin lock. Langston with elbows but Orton with a knee to the midsection and Orton gets a near fall. Orton returns to the reverse chin lock. Orton with forearms but Langston with punches. Orton sends Langston through the ropes to the floor. Orton sends Langston into the ring steps.

Orton sends Langston back into the ring and he gets a near fall. Orton with a reverse chin lock. Orton with an Irish whip and he runs into an elbow and Langston with a body block and both men are down.

Langston with clotheslines and then Langston with a belly-to-belly suplex. Langston with the Ultimate Warrior Splash and he gets a near fall. Langston picks up Orton but Orton with a back breaker. Orton with a kick to the midsection and then he sends Langston to the apron and he kicks Langston in the arm before hitting the IEDDT.

Orton looks around and listens for the right place to twist to the mat. Orton tries for the RKO but Langston pushes him away and Langston with a splash into the corner. Orton stays in the corner and Orton with a thumb to the eye when the referee was out of position and Orton hits the RKO for the three count.

Winner: Randy Orton

Bray Wyatt says that fate is a strange beast. She warms your heart with her eyes before she tears you apart with her teeth. Are her virtues worth this gamble? Usos . . . if I was to break one of your bones, will the other one feel it? If I cut one of you, will the other one bleed? Are you tired of trying to be heroes? Tired of living through these lies.

Bryan yells LIES. Everything we have ever been told is a lie. It makes him want to ram your head into a wall until you destroy something.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Four: Fandango (with Summer Rae) versus Xavier Woods (with R Truth, Naomi, and Cameron)

They lock up and Fandango with an arm drag and he dances around. They lock up again and Woods with a side head lock. Woods with a head scissors take down and then Woods does some dancing. Fandango with punches.

Fandango sends Woods to the floor and Fandango dances. Woods with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Xavier Woods

After the match, Summer Rae argues with Woods and Cameron and Naomi trip Summer and pull her to the floor. Fandango punches Woods and Truth comes to his partner’s aid. Woods and Truth with a double drop kick and Fandango goes to the floor.

The Usos are in the locker room with Tom Phillips. Tom tries to ask Jimmy what went wrong and Jey kicks a chair across the room. Jimmy says that they understand what the Wyatts do. They play mind games. They use the number games. They put that fear into you where you are supposed to be down or hurt.

When their backs are against the wall, they stand up. They will fight back on Monday night against Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan. They will bring the pain to them on Monday night.

We go to commercial.

We are back with the Raw Rebound.

The Shield is in the ring.

Roman Reigns says Monday was Old School Raw. It was a night when they celebrated their history and the legends who owned it. Legends like Ric Flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. With all of those legends in the house, there was only one thing that mattered. It was when Roman Reigns pinned CM Punk to become the new Best in the World.

Dean says that he hates snakes. Scaly, slimy, slithering, evil disgusting creatures. How can someone own a ten foot python. Someone will pay. If that snake was here, he would choke it out in the ring.

Seth says that was Monday. Tonight is not Old School Raw. Tonight is not about the history of WWE. Tonight is about the future of WWE. He is no Nostradamus, but that future does not involve the New Age Outlaws. Monday on Raw, the Outlaws stuck their noses in their business. Tonight it will be their pleasure to put the Road Dogg and Billy Gunn out of their miseries.

They will do what they always do with CM Punk. They will break him. They will prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt, they are the future of the company. Believe in the Shield.

Match Number Five: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns versus BG James, Billy Gunn, and CM Punk

Ambrose and Punk start things off and Punk backs Ambrose into the corner. Punk with a clean break. Ambrose with a side head lock take down and Punk with a head scissors. Ambrose escapes. Punk with a side head lock and James tags in. James with a hammer lock and he backs Ambrose into the corner and he works on the arm.

Rollins tags in and Gunn with an arm drag into arm bar. Gunn with an arm bar and he tags in James. James with a kick to the arm followed by an arm bar. Punk tags in and he goes up top and works on the arm. Rollins with a punch and kick and he tags in Ambrose. Punk with a drop toe hold and then he applies a step over toe hold and he drops back to work on the leg.

Ambrose punches Punk in the corner and then he runs the eyes across the top rope. Punk with a kick to the chest and Ambrose goes to the floor. Rollins tries to interfere and Punk tries for the Go To Sleep but Reigns breaks it up. Gunn and James with punches to Rollins and Reigns.

Gunn and James send Reigns over the top rope to the floor and we go to commercial.

The Shield discuss strategy on the floor before Ambrose returns to the ring. They lock up and Rollins punches Punk from the apron. Rollins tags in and he tries for a suplex and Punk blocks it and gets a near fall on an inside cradle. Reigns tags in and Punk with a kick but Reigns with a punch. Reigns works on the back and applies a rear chin lock.

Punk with a drop kick to Reigns and James tags in. Punk and James with a double hip toss. Reigns with a punch and he tags in Ambrose. Dean with a punch.

We are back and Ambrose with a forearm to James’ face and James with jabs and a punch to the head. James with a knee drop and he gets a near fall. Ambrose goes to the floor but Rollins makes the blind tag and he takes James down and get s a near fall. Reigns tags in and they make a wish with James.

Reigns with kicks and he tags in Ambrose. Ambrose with a boot to the midsection. Ambrose with a punch to James and he mocks James but James is too quick. Ambrose with a drop kick to James in the ropes and Rollins with a drop kick and he gets a near fall. Rollins works on the face.

Rollins with a reverse chin lock. James with elbows and punches in the corner. Rollins with a flatline into the turnbuckles and he gets a near fall. Rollins with kicks to James and he rakes the eyes. Ambrose tags in and he connects with crossfaces and he kicks the ropes. Ambrose with shoulders in the corner. Reigns gets a near fall.

Reigns with a reverse chin lock. James with elbows but Reigns with a knee. James with a DDT and both men are down. Rollins tags in and he knocks Gunn off the apron. James with a back body drop and Ambrose tags in and so doe Punk. Punk with a leg lariat followed by double sledges and a swinging neck breaker. Punk with the knee into the turnbuckles but Punk misses the short arm clothesline.

Punk hits a cross body from the turnbuckles and gets a near fall. Punk gets Ambrose on his shoulders for the Go To Sleep but Ambrose escapes and he tries for the Dean Driver but Punk escapes. They both go for cross body blocks at the same time and both go down.

Gunn and Reigns tags in and Gunn with punches. Gunn with a big boot and then he hits a uranage to Rollins. Gunn with a jackhammer to Reigns for a near fall and Ambrose breaks up the cover. James is knocked off the apron. Ambrose with a suicide dive onto Rollins. Gunn goes for the Fameasser on Ambrose but Reigns intercedes and hits the Spear for the three count.

Winners: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins
