WWE Smackdown Star Is ‘Very Ill’ In Photo

WWE announced that former NFL star Pat McAfee would take over on the WWE SmackDown commentary team earlier this year and his pairing with Michael Cole has been highly praised by both fans and members of the sports entertainment and professional wrestling media alike. Is this top star ‘permanently leaving’ WWE SmackDown?

However, McAfee will more than likely be out of commission for the foreseeable future as during a recent edition of his highly acclaimed show ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, McAfee explained that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

It should be noted that McAfee is fully vaccinated, yet he still tested positive for the virus. While WWE have not officially confirmed that the SmackDown color commentator will not be at the commentary desk it is most likely that a replacement will be named while McAfee is recovering from COVID-19

Pat would take to social media via Twitter to post evidence of the situation along with stating that he is ‘aht [meaning out] indefinitely. You can view the full tweet below.

“Fully Vax’d. Very Positive. Aht Indefinitely. It’s miserable but thankful that my wife and the boys at the office all took tests and they are all negative.. This is obviously a sign from the universe, probably telling me that I stink & to stay home for a while. I’ll see yinz”
