WWE has let go several top names in 2021 including Braun Strowman, Peyton Royce, Fandango, Aleister Black, among others. Now, it is being reported that the company is without a producer as Sonjay Dutt has left WWE, but by his own decision, according to a report from Fightful Select. It should be noted that it was allegedly Dutt’s decision to leave the company. The real reason for this former WWE Champion missing Raw this past week just leaked.
Dutt, a former TNA X-Division champion has been a producer for WWE since 2019 after suddenly stopping his in-ring career due to an injury in 2017. As of now, there is no indication whether or not the recent company shakeup had anything to do with Dutt’s release.
Over on the Squared Circle subreddit, fans and members of the WWE universe were quit to discuss Dutt’s departure from WWE.
One Reddit user named Dolph-Ziggler stated: “I’d hope possibly that this could mean he is healed up and wants to finish his career on his own terms. But it could also be a moment of clarity like R.D Evans and he wanted to walk away. Not often someone backstage decides to leave.” While Bellagrrl2021 proclaimed: “AEW should hire him. Sonjay was reportedly responsible for most of the production and story for Impact, when that show was arguably the best promotion in 2018 to 2019.”
