WWE Told Star To Lose Weight Before Firing

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has long been known for his preference for “body guys” in the wrestling industry, leading to a period where WWE was dominated by larger, muscular Superstars. While smaller wrestlers have gained prominence in recent years, McMahon’s opinions on a Superstar’s appearance can still carry significant weight in the company.

WWE Superstar Mansoor recently shared an incident during a Twitch stream with his former Maximum Male Model stablemate, Mace, who was also released from his WWE contract. Mansoor recounted an interaction with Vince McMahon regarding his physique after a match.

According to Mansoor, McMahon implied that he should focus more on working out and improving his physique. In response, Mansoor decided to lose weight and slim down, going from 220 pounds to 180 pounds. He was then asked by WWE executive John Laurinaitis to send before-and-after photos of his weight loss, which were intended for McMahon’s review.

After submitting the photos, Mansoor received feedback about his appearance. However, despite his efforts to address McMahon’s concerns, it did not result in a significant push or change in his career trajectory.

“We have the match, we go back up to the locker room, and the producer comes in the room, and he says, ‘Guys, Vince saw the match. Nobody knows how to sell.’ And then he looks right at me, ‘And nobody looks like they’ve gone to the gym.’

“And I was like, ‘Oh, no!’ So… I lost the weight. I went back to 180, I was slender… I got a little slimmer.”

During their Twitch stream, Mace and Mansoor also discussed their involvement in the Maximum Male Models group and the reasons behind their removal from TV earlier in the year. They mentioned that they were initially told they were “Vince’s babies,” but their storylines and characters ultimately evolved as WWE’s creative direction shifted.
