WWE might be countering AEW’s TV show on TNT

WWE finally has some competition in the form of AEW, which has all the momentum in the world right now.

A new war in professional wrestling has started, between WWE and AEW. WWE has already started the offence when they aired EVOLVE 131 on the WWE Network on the same night as Fight For The Fallen. This will likely not be the last time WWE does something of this nature either.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the new professional wrestling war and discussed what Vince McMahon is capable of.

Meltzer thinks that knowing Vince, they will do a counter for AEW’s TV show just like they did a counter show on the 13th. He says it is a war, which Vince is always interested in and AEW will have to fight back as if it gets one-sided AEW will fall like every other promotion.

Meltzer added that AEW definitely has the money, but they will have to be clever to “bully” WWE back. They pulled a stunt with cease and desist, but they will need to do more to counter WWE.

It will be interesting to see how this war turns out. The world of professional wrestling itself might change.

Doubtful, smackdown is suppose to be the only show going to Fox

Yeah what a great idea, then all of those people who are on their books are out of work.
Totally moronic thing to say about peoples careers.

Do you think that there is enough places in the likes of AEW, Impact, RoH and NJPW for everyone? Don’t be delusional.

What needs to happen is WWE needs to get better.

Would love the WWE to go belly up!

Interesting choice of term: “bully”. The article writer has taken to flights of fancy. AEW is not a bully, that remains to be seen.

The bully in this scenario always has been the WWe. For clear reasons that don’t need to be explained to serious readers of this subject.

Might wanna look up the def of war lol

yep, i smell a 2 hour NXT airing on FS1 on Wednesday at the same time as AEW coming soon. cause Vince wants the US Wrestling Market to himself.

Firsty AEW are not “competition” and will likely never be as WWE is just too damn big and to established. Even if AEW gets anywhere near as big as WWE, they will be an alternative to WWE not competition. This is not the 1990s. and things are totally different.

Secondly, as pointed out by many people, whatever people think about the Evolve/Fallen timing, the Evolve event was planned long before the AEW was even a thing.

And as for Meltzer saying WWE will have a counter program for the Wednesday night show … how would that work exactly? They cannot just put a show on TV networks just because they want to, and putting something on the WWE Network is pointless as whatever it is, you can just watch it whenever you want. When something is on the Network there is no urgency to watch shows live.

Plus, NXT airs on a Wednesday night, so you might as well say AEW picked Weds to go up against that.
