WWE Wrestler Fired After Doctor’s Suicide

Former WWE star Eugene had a multiyear run with the company which started in 2004 but it ended abruptly when he was released from his contract in 2007.

The wrestling veteran recently appeared on the Talk Is Jericho podcast where he discussed a number of things and revealed the bizarre turn of events that led to his firing from the promotion.

Eugene revealed that he was fired from the company for failing a drug test. According to the former WWE star, he actually had a prescription for the medicine but he couldn’t prove it because his doctor died by suicide:

“I failed a drug test. I had a prescription a long time ago.  It was a prescription medicine and when I went to get the prescription, the doctor had killed himself and Walgreens said they didn’t keep records past a year.  So, I had no documentation.”

While Eugene did return to the company on multiple occasions in later years, his returns never led to a run like his first stint with the company. He was also hired as an NXT trainer in 2013 but he only lasted for a year.

Though that hasn’t stopped the former tag team champion from continuing his wrestling career. He has been competing in the independent circuit and has also held his own shows.
