Following their horrible display at WWE Super ShowDown, The Undertaker and Goldberg both left Saudi Arabia feeling that they’d let fans down. The Undertaker redeemed himself at Extreme Rules last month in a No Holds Barred tag team match, teaming with Roman Reigns to defeat Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. Now, it looks like Goldberg may get his shot at redemption.
It’s been reported by Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the WWE Hall of Famer would face Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam. Meltzer stated that he actually found out thanks to a rumor that he’d confirmed the match a while back, forcing the WWE to confront him and ask him how he found out.
So thank you to these idiots because I got a call from someone in WWE who was talking to me about, ‘How did you know that it was Bill Goldberg?’ And I said, ‘I didn’t know it was Bill Goldberg.’ They didn’t realize that I said I didn’t know because all these people had said that I said it when I never said it in the first place. So in fact, it is Bill Goldberg, and that’s how I found out. Isn’t that wonderful?
The Miz and Dolph Ziggler are already set for a singles match at SummerSlam, and with such a short amount of time between now and the PPV, it seems unlikely that they would be able to make that leap. That being said, we’ve seen stranger moves from the WWE before, so this definitely isn’t outside the realm of possibility.
