Bobby Lashley WWE Fastlane Match Rumor Leaks

Bobby Lashley could be in line to face a familiar name at WWE Fastlane. During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed why WWE stretched out Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship match with now-former champion, The Miz throughout the entire show and why that move was very much an intentional one. Meltzer explained the reasoning with the following quote. Bobby Lashley just ‘demanded’ that WWE bring back this fired star.

“We’ll see how the rating is tomorrow. All those segments over and over again, you know in their mind why they did them, they thought they were gonna stretch [fans] out because they didn’t want — like, you can stay through hour one to get your World Title match, ah but you’re not getting it. Hour two, you’re getting your World Title match, but hour two [not getting it], well that was their strategy, so we’ll see if it works.”

In addition, Meltzer speculated how The Miz could get a potential rematch against Lashley at the upcoming WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event. The event is scheduled to take place on March 21, 2021, and will broadcast from the WWE ThunderDome, hosted at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Fastlane will also be the first WWE pay-per-view to stream on the NBC streaming service, Peacock. Meltzer stated the following regarding the potential Miz rematch with Bobby Lashley. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Meltzer and Alvarez’s comments. Bruce Prichard ‘ruined’ Bobby Lashley’s title win.

Meltzer: I’ll put it this way, I don’t think The Miz is going to be getting a rematch that much, but watch them give Miz a rematch at Fastlane because they have to do something at Fastlane.

Alvarez: Dave, if Miz is getting a shot at Fastlane then you are going to be reviewing that show by yourself. I’m not going to watch it, I’m going to have to put my foot down.
