Addison Rae is a popular TikTok influencer with nearly eighty-two million followers on the platform. Due to her popularity among younger people, Dana White and the UFC allowed Rae to serve as an interviewer during tonight’s highly anticipated UFC 264 card. Dana White recently leaked these sad Khabib text messages
However, her quick time as a correspondent has come to an abrupt end as it was revealed that the UFC will not be retaining her services after tonight’s event. This is due to a controversial tweet that was sent out by Rae prior to the main card of the show.
The tweet in question said: “I studied broadcast journalism in college for 3 whole months to prepare for this moment”
This gathered a lot of backlash by those on social media, especially on the platform, Twitter. One user named Erinn Alexander stated:
“I went to Journalism school for two years and interned (unpaid) for another 1.5 years after that. Never got hired on and had to switch careers. Thank you for this info.”
While another Twitter user, Victor Jahaj stated: This is disrespectful to all the people who go to college and work their asses off for jobs like this and sometimes don’t even get them but because Addison has clout she gets them over QUALIFIED sports journalists”
However one user, Mac Engel went to Rae’s defense by tweeting out: “Good for you. Sincerely. Be smart with your money. Make taking care of your appearance a priority. Don’t take this for granted. You earned it.”
Dana White fired five UFC fighters recently. It should be noted that Addison Rae was not technically ‘fired’ by the UFC as she didn’t have a formal contract with the company to begin with. However, she will not be used as a red carpet interviewer going forward, or at the very least, the forseeable future.
