Matt Cardona. the former Zack Ryder created the ever-popular ‘internet championship’ back in the early 2010s after the success of his YouTube series: ‘Z True Long Island Story’. However, it is being reported that WWE Hall of Famer and Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy Development and COO – Triple H was not a fan of the self-made belt. Triple H allegedly ripped off this AEW star.
During a preview of a new edition of Wrestling Perspective Podcast for Fightful Select, the GCW Champion stated that Triple said that Cardona was a ‘mark for himself’ and later added that ‘ten years ago, the locker room would of kicked his ass’.
After Cardona replied with “well, the locker room loves me.” Triple H would retort by stating: “That’s why the houses are half empty”.
It should be noted that Cardona never appeared on mainstream WWE programming as the acknowledged Internet Champion.
In other news regarding Triple H, during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the former WWE Champion discussed Big E’s WWE Money in the Bank contract win and what it means for the company going forward. Credit to the outlet for the below.
