Gable Steveson made a name for himself after his impressive performance at the Tokyo Olympics, where he won the gold medal in the 125 kg freestyle wrestling category. Since then both WWE and UFC have been interested in signing Gable Steveson to a contract. In the end, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract and he will become a full-time WWE Superstar very soon as well.
Gable Steveson was able to defend the NCAA Heavyweight Championship this week and became a two-time champion. Right after that, he retired from amateur wrestling permanently. He then took to Twitter and said that he is grateful to amateur wrestling. However, he then possibly spoiled his WWE debut plans, as he stated that he will be present at WrestleMania 38 next month. Gable Steveson would go on to delete the tweet as well, as he may have feared getting in trouble.
In other news, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle remains one of the most technically-gifted pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He had arguably the best rookie year in WWE history as he won the WWE Championship within a year and competed at the highest level for many years after that and then went to TNA as well before returning to WWE back in 2017. During a recent edition of his podcast, ‘The Kurt Angle Show”, Angle would briefly touch on the recent death of Scott Hall and in conversation with Conrad Thompson would state the following. Credit to Wrestling Inc for the below.
“Scott was a great guy, I absolutely loved him, he was very talented,” Angle said. “One of the most talented in-ring performers of all time. He had his demons but he was fighting through them. A really good guy and we’re going to sorely miss him.”
