Bin Hamin hinted on a RussosBrand.com podcast that when Vince Russo was consulting for the USA Network a couple of years ago, he suggested that Raw go back to TV-14 like it was during the Attitude Era, and that USA have been pushing WWE to go back to TV-14 and bring back edgier storylines to increase their television ratings. WWE SummerSlam will reportedly be TV-14.
Russo has admitted to consulting for a network that airs wrestling programming from early 2020 to early 2022, with the network obviously being USA based on all of his commments on his podcasts. Russo, Bin Hamin, and Stevie Richards first offered their consulting services to FOX when they debuted WWE SmackDown, but a deal couldn’t be reached.
Daniel Bryan recently discussed a storyline idea that would fit this edgier programming idea. Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan rose to superstardom in 2014 thanks to his organic rise as a babyface. This culminated in him winning both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at WrestleMania 30 after Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match. Matt Riddle also dropped a huge Daniel Bryan bombshell.
Daniel Bryan, now known as Bryan Danielson, discussed why he left WWE for AEW after the end of AEW All Out, as seen in the tweets below. Adam Cole also debuted, reuniting with The Elite. Jim Ross ‘botched’ a major WWE star’s AEW debut.
While speaking on a recent episode of the Bellas podcast, Bryan Danielson revealed he wanted to fake his own death.
Danielson: I am sex!
Bella: No, that’s not going to be it.
Danielson: Does that not work?
Bella: I mean, if that’s your quote.
Danielson: It’s not a quote, it’s whatever affirmation you want.
Bella: You wake up in the morning and say that?
Danielson: No, I don’t, but it could be an affirmation.
Bella: It could be. I am sex. Interesting.
Danielson: Can I tell you my actual thing I’ve been working on and I don’t know if you noticed this. I read this book, You Are Not Listening by Kate Murphy. I’ve been trying to be a better listener, both for you and the kids. What is Birdie really saying? What are you really saying?
Bella: You’ve always been a really good listener. That’s great that you want to be an even better one. That’s good. I think we go with that. Everyone, this week, be a better listener. I feel like when people meet you and talk to you, this goes for my family to strangers to friends, they are always blown away when they have a conversation. They’re like, ‘Woah, this is the first time I realized that someone was really listening to me and I was the only person in the room.’ Yeah, Bryan is like that with everyone. It means a lot to people. It makes people feel like what they’re saying has value, they feel important, and makes them open up more. It’s a really good characteristic that you have. That’s what we’re going to leave everyone with. Be a little more like Bryan. Don’t think about faking your own death, but be a better listener because it’ll make people around feel really good.
Danielson: But, if you do come up with a really good way to fake your own death in modern society, please tweet it.
