Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan are two of the biggest names in their respective fields. Fans might have never imagined what would happen if they squared off. It seems if almost squared off during a birthday dinner. Mike Tyson tried to challenge Michael Jordan to a fight over his relationship with Tyson’s then-wife, Robin Givens.

Jordan and Tyson dated the same woman, Robin Givens. While MJ did not have a relationship to remember, Mike Tyson married Givens in 1988. However, their relationship was short-lived. Tyson had quite some strained relationships, but the one that stood out was his marriage with Robin Givens. There was also a time when Mike walked in on his now ex-wife Robin Givens sleeping with Brad Pitt.
Tyson and Givens filed for a divorce that sent headlines all around the world. After a brief period, the two celebrities split following Givens filing for ‘spousal abuse’. When the news about Tyson and Givens hit the news worldwide, MJ got a reality check. He could have well been in Tyson’s shoes considering his past with Givens.
During an interview with GQ, it was revealed:
“Now, in the limo, Michael reads the latest about Mike Tyson and Robin Givens in USA Today, -He could have been in Mike Tyson’s shoes right now. On her way from Eddie Murphy to Mike Tyson, Ms. Givens had stopped off at Michael’s address for a spell. “It got tired in five, six days. I could see it.” He could see she wasn’t dating men—she was dating growth industries.“
Interestingly enough, Givens was one of the reasons why the two sporting legends almost came to blows in a bar. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan and Mike Tyson might belong to two completely different sports. However, their connection with a Hollywood celebrity almost caused disaster for the two.
