Adam Cole and Pete Dunne both could be departing WWE

FightfulSelect.com reported that Cole is not the only person with their NXT deal expiring soon. It has been learned by them that the NXT contract of Pete Dunne is also up soon, with one source also pointing to “after Summerslam weekend.”  It has not been confirmed what the expiry date of the contract is between Dunne and WWE as of yet. Cole’s current WWE deal is due to expire the weekend of SummerSlam 2021 and therefore his final appearance for the company will be at NXT TakeOver 36. The former Undisputed Era member’s deal had expired following NXT The Great American Bash last month. He had ended up agreeing to a short-term extension and never renewed the contract.

Fightful has heard that the situation was “similar to that of Adam Cole’s” but hasn’t been given any additional details besides that his contract is in fact coming up soon. It has also not been confirmed if Dunne’s contract actually expired as Cole’s did, leading to a short-term extension. We will keep you updated when more details are released.
