WWE Superstar Roman Reigns is certainly one of the top competitors in the company right now and has been on a solid run as the WWE Universal Champion, but he is losing his top spot to two WWE Smackdown women. Roman Reigns successfully defended his WWE Universal Championship against WWE Hall Of Famer Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match in the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 37. Roman Reigns might also be losing Paul Heyman eventually.
Roman Reigns also successfully retained his WWE Universal Championship against Cesaro in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash. Alexa Bliss is another top star.
WWE has released several Superstars from the company yesterday, including the likes of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and many others. It seems the reason for their release was officially given as budget cuts. The message was texted to the WWE Superstars by WWE’s John Laurinaitis.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation.
“You know what’s also interesting is that usually when they cut people, they cut people, but you know this time they sent a text message to all the talent informing them of these cuts? No, not the released talent. There was a mass text from John Laurinaitis to all wrestlers, including top stars like Alexa Bliss and Roman Reigns, informing them of the six people cut which they’ve never done before. As far as I know, that’s never been done before.

Due to Budget cuts the following talent were released today. Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, and Aleister Black. – John Laurinaitis
