Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s 15-year-old child, formerly known as Seraphina Rose, made their debut appearance under their new name, Fin, at a memorial service for Jennifer’s father last weekend. Dressed in a black pantsuit and sporting a buzz-cut hairstyle, Fin introduced themselves by their new name before addressing the congregation at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, West Virginia, on Saturday.
The memorial service, which was streamed live on Facebook, honored Jennifer Garner’s father, William Jack Garner, who passed away the previous week at the age of 85. Following the lead of William’s other grandchildren, Fin took to the church lectern and introduced themselves as “Fin Affleck,” before reading a passage from the Book of Proverbs.
Although Fin had been spotted with their new short cropped hair as early as February this year, the funeral marked the first public appearance where the teenager introduced themselves under their new name.
Fin, who is Garner and Affleck’s middle child, has an older sister, Violet Anne, 18, and a younger brother, Samuel, 15. Despite Garner and Affleck’s divorce in 2018, the two maintain a cordial relationship. Affleck married singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022, whose 16-year-old daughter, Emme Maribel Muniz, also uses gender-neutral pronouns and has formed a close bond with Fin as a step-sibling.
