Chris Jericho continues to tease Impact partnership; poses with Impact Executives

Chris Jericho

The IWGP Intercontinental Champion continues to evolve and remain a top talent in the wrestling world. While he’s only wrestled a few matches in NJPW, Jericho’s run with the company has made some waves, especially since some consider NJPW to be the WWE’s competition.

Over the past year, it’s been rumored that Y2J was working on a deal with Impact Wrestling. Though nothing official has been confirmed, a recent Instagram picture has fans wondering what could be next for Jericho.

Jericho posted a picture on his Instagram account with co-executive vice presidents of Impact Wrestling Scott Damore & Don Callis and Anthem Entertainment president Ed Nordholm, along with his father Ted Irvine.

While him working with NJPW has made fans wonder if his relationship with the WWE and Vince McMahon has become strained, working with another US company would definitely add fuel to that fire. And that’s not even adding in the possible startup that he’s working on with The Elite, All Elite Wrestling.

Articles like this strain the industry. It’s like they WANT to tear in with negativity. Kill the damned rumor mill, already.

One minute we are told he is part of this All Elite promotion, then we are told he has been linked with Impact over this past year.

Just shows you that nobody knows anything.

And TNA used his music video “Enemy” for one of their shows as well around that time.

Jericho is a master at trolling, and the dirt sheets continue to fall for it all the time.

I agree. Not to mention, Jericho has been pulling stunts like this for more than a decade. I remember when he left WWE the first time, in 2005, he posted a photo of himself posing in front of the TNA logo on his website. He loves seeing the dirt sheets talk about him.

Yeah, but him and Callis go way back and they’re both from Winnipeg, so just because they’re hanging out doesn’t immediately mean he’s signing with Impact. They could just be catching up, etc. Jericho’s dad also being there further solidifies my belief that they’re all just catching up.

I think he’s done all he can in WWE. He’s probably not going to get another run at the top in WWE unless they use his current momentum to push SmackDown’s move to Fox.

On the business end, i dont know how wise it would be for him to align himself with Impact, it would take a major influx of talent to bring that brand into relevance again. He’s better off in NJPW.
