CM Punk is officially a roster member of AEW! All Elite Wrestling’s highly-hyped show: AEW Rampage: The First Dance surely delivered and it appears that we will be seeing CM Punk in an AEW ring for some time to come. During the post-show media call for AEW Rampage: The First Dance tonight, members of the professional wrestling and sports media asked ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ and AEW Executive Tony Khan various questions. CM Punk’s AEW contract paycheck was recently revealed.
One of these questions, which was directly to Punk asked about the possibility of Punk taking advantage of ‘The forbidden door’ in All Elite Wrestling.
“Punk is asked about Forbidden Door aspirations… he says he’s an AEW guy and just got back. He can do outside stuff like MMA commentary, but he doesn’t have to be on all the shows. He says having that freedom is a novel concept and credits Tony making it happen.”
In a follow-up, Punk stated that he is first and foremost an ‘AEW & TNT guy’.
“Punk says Tony gets priority and if there’s an idea to discuss, they’ll talk, but he’s an AEW and TNT guy first. Maybe down the line he fits in, but right now he’s in the AEW pool.” He did say if Tony Khan wants to send him to NJPW’s G1, he’d be open to it.
