Former WWE Superstar CM Punk has not been seen on WWE television since the 2014 edition of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He walked out on the company the next day and has not looked back since then. Following his WWE exit, many fans have been wanting to see Punk make his return to the company every year. He has yet to make his return to the squared circle and at this point in time, it seems very unlikely. He also recently reacted to Bad Bunny’s performance at WrestleMania 37.
Will Ospreay challenged CM Punk to an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match in the future after the conclusion of NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event. CM Punk has finally decided to respond to Will Ospreay’s challenge.
CM Punk recently spoke to Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy about a potential match with Ospreay.
“I don’t want to give people false hope in answering Ospreay. But he’s for sure somebody that I’ve never wrestled before that interests me a lot more than, I guess, the corporate side of professional wrestling nowadays. New and different things are going to interest me more than doing the same old, same old. I always need new goals. I don’t know. Let’s see if he has it at the end of the summer and then ask me the question again.”
