Several fans noted that the company dropped some hints about his potential comeback to the company.
WWE teases possible Cody Rhodes return
Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens had squared off on last night’s main event of Monday Night RAW. The stipulation for the match was set that Rollins would replace Owens in the WrestleMania 38 talk show segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin if he won. However, it was KO who emerged victorious in the match and no change was made to the planned segment for the ‘Shows of Shows.’ WWE subtly dropped hints about the return after Seth Rollins lost against Kevin Owens.
Following Rollins’ loss to Owens, announcer Corey Graves dropped a major hint in regards to a big return. Graves said that Seth Rollins’ WrestleMania hopes have been “dashed.” Jimmy Smith added that his vision had become an “absolute nightmare.” This sparked speculations once again about the return of ‘The American Nightmare.’
As it seems, the potential return is likely to take place at WrestleMania 38. With Rollins having no opponent for the marquee show, Rhodes would be a suitable opponent for Rollins. Only time will tell what WWE has in store for the fans. WrestleMania 38 will take place on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3 from AT& T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Dave Meltzer said on WOR that Cody is coming and will appear at WrestleMania in April, even if he’s not on Raw prior, “He’s coming. I mean, that’s it. He’s wrestling Seth at WrestleMania. Unless something changes. I sure watched this not thinking anything’s changing.”
