Former five-time champion reportedly returning to WWE

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, former Women’s and Diva’s Champion Melina Perez is set to return.

PWInsider.com is told by multiple sources that Perez will be returning to WWE programming within the next week.

Melina had been sought for an appearance at the 2020 Royal Rumble but was under contract with the NWA. It seems now that the NWA contract has expired and WWE is looking to capitalize on her gained experience.

Melina debuted for WWE in 2005 as the valet for the team of Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro, MNM. Despite this initial role she rose to establish herself in singles competition, gaining both the Women’s and Diva’s Championship. Since leaving the company in 2011, Melina has remained active on the independent scene and debuted with the NWA in 2019. Prior to her NWA debut she had appeared briefly on the July 22, 2019 Raw Reunion.
