The former WWE star Christian seems to be the next challenger to AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. Adam “Hangman” Page, who is on a quest for AEW World Title will have to wait a little bit more. He had an opportunity to become the company’s first champion but relinquished it to Chris Jericho. Nearly three years after the company started, he is still working toward that title.
Christian is likely to headline All Out PPV
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this current booking situation with Hangman Page, The Dark Order. Page lost that big elimination tag team match, so they are not getting title opportunities. That also apparently means that Hangman won’t be working the September 5th pay-per-view event either. Roman Reigns Reveals WWE 2021 Paycheck
“Yeah, [Hangman is] not on the show and I don’t know who Omega is wrestling, obviously, from the TV it looks like Christian. That’s just the situation.”
We’ll have to see what AEW has in store for Hangman Page. A lot of signs are indicating that Christian would be headlining All Out pay-per-view with Kenny Omega for the AEW World title. We will have to see how AEW works out the storyline in the coming days.
