WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg made his return to WWE in 2016 after a hiatus of more than a decade from the company. He would go on to defeat Brock Lesnar in a squash match at Survivor 2016 and then win the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in 2017. He defended his title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in one of the main events of the show. As stated by his contract, Vince McMahon can only have him compete in one more match this year, so it has to mean something. Goldberg also admitted to mocking Ric Flair for being too old to be in the ring in the past. Goldberg also sent a bold message to a female WWE Superstar a couple of months ago.
Rodney Mack recently spoke to Wrestling Inc and noted how Goldberg also had his back during his time in WWE and also did not want to end Rodney Mack’s “White Boy Challenge” on the June 23rd, 2003 episode of RAW.
“It was great to work with Goldberg. Bill’s a great guy, I remember I was one of the first guys he met coming through the locker room in WWE. We just hit it off right off the bat, but it’s really easy to do that since Bill’s a great guy. You know, he didn’t really want to do it [end the streak] at the time. But I’m like, ‘I’m not in position to make a decision on that.’
Bill stood up for me a lot. I have nothing but great things to say about him. I wish we could have worked a proper angle or program together, because I really think he and I could have drawn some money together.”
