WWE had long planned for Goldberg’s last match on his contract to be against Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, but this was a plan before Day 1, so obviously things may have changed for other PPV’s on the road to WrestleMania. Billi Bhatti reported this rumor on The Dirty Sheets podcast.
Baseball legend Pete Rose has been spotted stepping inside the squared circle on multiple occasions starting from 1998. His appearances at WrestleMania and his feud with Kane had earned the long-time Cincinnati Red induction as the first member of the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
Pete Rose has made multiple appearances at WrestleMania events, most famously at WrestleMania 14 when he was tombstoned by Kane. He also made an appearance in the following year as the San Diego Chicken, where he was once again tombstoned by ‘The Big Red Machine.’
Pete Rose reveals how much he was paid
Appearing on The Whole Story podcast with Alex Feuz, Rose revealed how much he was paid for one of the WrestleMania events. Here is what he said:
“Well, it’s strictly a retired baseball player getting a gig, and that gig paid $50,000 to do WrestleMania, and let me tell you something about WrestleMania. I say this constantly. I have never met a wrestler there that wasn’t a good guy. Backstage, Big Show, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, they’re all great guys behind the scenes. I love the wrestlers. They’re entertainers. They understand they got a good gig going. I watch them a couple of times a week now. I root for Charlotte, Ric Flair’s my buddy,” he said.
It has been noted that Rose did not specify which WrestleMania he received fifty grand for. He had made his return to the company as a guest host for WWE Monday Night RAW on March 22, 2010. This time around as well, it was no different. Kane once again set his sights on the legend and got his hands on his old nemesis.
