Goldberg, Bobby Lashley, and WWE have really been pushing this feud for a while now. Honestly, most fans are over it, but they still want a story that is cohesive. Goldberg was recently absent from Raw as far as being on the show goes. Goldberg had stated just weeks ago that he would be coming for Bobby Lashley and fans believed it. Just as we expected to see Goldberg, we had the idea nixed right in front of our eyes along with many other ideas for this past Monday’s episode of Raw.
Vince Russo was one to weigh in on this as Vince Russo said on Goldberg not being on Raw: “Here is the problem, okay? You missed a week. We got him this week, and he says I’m not coming for the championship; I’m coming for Bobby Lashley’s soul. Okay, bro! He has got to come for Lashley next week, otherwise, I’m coming for Lashley’s soul, but I’m really not going to come until I’m booked against him at the Saudi show. That’s the problem, bro. You can’t have this guy say this and just not show up out of the blue next week. So, Goldberg doesn’t show up; we don’t see him again, so, okay. We’re assuming now that he is full of crap, and he is afraid.”
Russo makes a lot of sense here. The real issue seems to be WWE creative. We see so often that WWE comes up with ideas and then changes them before we warm up to the idea. The creative side of WWE has been taking a big dive for a while and we’re seeing more fans jump to other programs like AEW and Impact as they seem to have better creative.
