Goldust on AEW being the best thing that can happen for WWE

Goldust is currently recovering from double knee surgery. His brother Cody Rhodes is busy starting a new wrestling promotion, as All Elite Wrestling looks to take the wrestling world by storm. Goldust congratulated his brother when AEW was announced. There is also the chance he might just go join AEW to help Cody.

While their father Dusty Rhodes also started a promotion, AEW looks to be a promotion that might give WWE proper competition, as they could reach WCW level television competition.

Goldust recently spoke to Sport Illustrated, where the WWE veteran discussed his career and then talked about AEW. Here is what he said:

“Me and Cody talk a lot, and I was on a movie set for a horror film that I’m doing, and we were texting about that AEW rally in Jacksonville,” said Rhodes. “The pyro alone was spectacular. They’re doing it really professionally, from the heads of the company to their big talent to the newer stars. I’m very curious to see what Cody and the Young Bucks can do with All Elite Wrestling.”

“I hope this really takes storm and becomes something formidable. You need places to go and work, competition is great and it is the best thing that can happen for WWE.”

“I am very proud of Cody, and I know Dad would be so proud and happy for Cody. He has a great mind for the business, he’s done so much already, but he’s paid attention and learned from mistakes. He’s fought for what he has, and his work in AEW will show that.”

As Goldust is 49-years-old, he has seen a lot in his long career. He can’t join his brother right now as he is still contracted to WWE. However, anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling.

I’m gonna tell u right now, WWE is in a lot of trouble once AEW starts up. Saw Raw last night and it was terrible….and seems to be getting worse.
