According to The Hill, Hillary Clinton has reacted to the federal indictment of former President Trump by promoting her “But Her Emails” merchandise. Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, took to social media to plug her tongue-in-cheek swag shortly after news broke of Trump’s indictment. She urged her followers to purchase the limited-edition “But Her Emails” hat, priced at $32 and made in the USA, with proceeds supporting Onward Together groups working to strengthen democracy.
The phrase “But Her Emails” references the scrutiny Clinton faced during the 2016 presidential campaign over her use of a personal email server while serving as Secretary of State. The controversy surrounding her emails became a major political issue at the time. Multiple investigations, including by the FBI, concluded without charging Clinton with violating federal records-keeping requirements or any other crimes.
This is not the first time Clinton has used the “But Her Emails” slogan to make a statement. Last year, she promoted the hats following a New York Times report that claimed Trump had disposed of documents in the toilet of the White House during his presidency.
