Roman Reigns relinquished the Universal Championship on Raw last week and after his major announcement, WWE made changes to the announced Championship bout for Crown Jewel.
The company announced that the triple threat will now be a one on one bout with Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar challenging each other for the vacant Universal Champion.
Now Pwinsider reports that there was a pitch made to add Drew McIntyre in this bout at the upcoming PPV from Saudi Arabia. Though the site didn’t provide any further detail on it.
The latest episode of Raw had a segment involving Strowman and Lesnar but it didn’t hint anything about adding a third participant to the bout, so it’s likely that WWE is going with the singles match.
Though it’s still possible that this pitch was approved and WWE may add the Scottish Superstar to the bout in upcoming days so we’ll have to keep an eye on the situation.
