One of the biggest names in Independent wrestling – Timothy Thatcher signed with WWE this past week. Thatcher has been very successful outside of WWE and has worked in numerous well-known promotions across the world.
On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that Thatcher had different plans in mind before he eventually made his way to WWE. Meltzer states that Thatcher tried to get a regular gig in Japan before coming to WWE.
WWE tried to sign the former EVOLVE Champion to a deal multiple times but he kept turning them down. However, Thatcher soon gave up on his attempts at getting a regular gig in Japan due to the fierceness of foreign competition in the country.
This then led him to finally sign with the WWE this past week.
