Is WWE Canceling NXT After Firings?

It was reported tonight that WWE had released several key WWE NXT talent including many notable names such as former Undisputed Era member Bobby Fish and former WWE NXT North American Champion – Bronson Reed. However, are these just the beginning to inevitable changes for the NXT brand? This WWE fired NXT employee leaked their paycheck

It was noted on the latest edition of PWInsider’s audio show today that WWE are looking into ‘revamping’ the black and gold brand, rather than canceling or replacing it. These revamps would include a new logo, new lighting, and a focus on younger talent along with a different format to the show. Furthermore, according to one anonymous source close to WrestlingNews.co, officials in the company believe the look of NXT has gotten ‘stale’ and needs to change. This source also apparently compared NXT’s current look to the look of AEW’s flagship show, Dynamite and proclaimed that it was ‘night and day’ and cited AEW looking more ‘fresh’ as a reason the rival promotion won their ratings war.

Over on the ever-popular Squared Circle subreddit, fans have been discussed this shocking round of releases.
Purpledirvish stated: “Bronson Reed!? Are you crapping me Vince!? I have tried to not get to upset about Andrade and Black, then came Bray, but now my hot-young-up-and-coming Bronson!? I had such high hopes for him! This sucks. Just tell us the truth and cancel 205 Live, I mean apparently they want to. They gutted the entire division and now they even firing the scrub replacements. Geez.”
